Kambu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Health (Kambu Health) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation providing culturally safe healthcare and community services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Ipswich, West Moreton and the Lockyer Valley.

Looking for bulk-billing doctors in Ipswich or Laidley?

 

Kambu Health operates medical clinics in both locations, providing access to bulk-billing General Practitioners (GPs), nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers and Aboriginal Health Practitioners.

​

Our medical teams work together to deliver respectful, comprehensive primary healthcare that considers physical, social, emotional, and cultural wellbeing.

​

Patients can book bulk-billing doctor appointments for general health concerns, preventative care, chronic disease management, referrals and health advice.

 

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients can access FREE 715 Health Checks to support early detection, ongoing care and better health outcomes.

Our model of care puts relationships and continuity at the centre of each visit. We take time to listen, explain options and support patients to make informed choices about their healthcare.

Kambu Health offers access to allied health and specialist services, including paediatrician, physiotherapy, podiatry, optometry, and visiting specialists (subject to availability and eligibility)

Our healthcare professionals work collaboratively to help patients manage ongoing conditions, maintain independence and receive coordinated care close to home.

Programs and Social Health

​

Alongside our medical services, Kambu Health delivers programs provide culturally informed support for social and emotional wellbeing that strengthens children, families and support community wellbeing.

​​

Our programs recognise the importance of strong identity and connection to Country, culture, and kinship.

​

​Support may include individual assistance, community connections, culturally grounded activities and practical guidance to help families navigate challenges:

 

​Ipswich Children and Family Centre supports jarjums aged 0-8 years of age and their parents/carers and families through early childhood and family activities.

​

Amaroo Early Learning and Development Centre provides an inclusive kindergarten and early learning environment for children aged 3 - 5 years of age, where children can grow, learn and connect.

​

Family Wellbeing Service is a culturally safe, early intervention program offered to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with an aim to build strong and resilient families through connectedness with community and enhancing the social and emotional wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people

 

Family Participation Program supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, children, and young people to actively participate in child protection decisions that affect them.

Our Families Our Way is a new way of approaching the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children

who are in the child protection system.

​

Social Health is a foundational part of our overall health and wellbeing; and is how we interact and form meaningful relationships with other people, in our family and in our community.  Becoming socially and emotionally well can require a different approach for different people, whether it is social isolation or your mental health, we aim to support you and provide you with the tools to excel.
